1.What kind of dogs will you train?
All dogs, all breeds, sizes and ages.
2.What tools do you use to train with?
Food rewards, verbiage praise, physical touch, bonkers, Pet Convincers (compressed air), prong collar, E-Collar
3.What kind of food do you use in training?
We use the dog’s daily food for training, this is a wonderful motivator and helps them work for their meal.
4.Where will my dog stay in your care?
Each dog will stay in our training facility in their own kennel for rest and sleep.
5.Can I visit my dog during their training?
No, we find it better for the dog to have no outside distractions while doing their board and train. We will be sending videos and photos of your dog learning their new skills during their stay.
6.Don’t prong collars hurt the dog?
Absolutely not, this is a misconception in the dog world, prong collars were specifically designed not to hurt the dog, when used correctly this is a wonderful tool for communication.
7.Don’t E-Collars shock the dog?
No, Shock collars and E Collars are different. The E Collar was designed to give low level muscle stimuli, very similar to the touch of a teaching mother dog. All new training starts on low levels, some levels can’t even be felt by us humans. Training begins on what we call a “working level” this can be different for each dog.
8.How will I know what to do when my dog comes home?
Never fear, each package contains 1 on 1 training for owners and their dogs before the return home. We will go over each command and what to look for and how to correct.
9.Will I get a perfect dog once training is done?
There are no perfect dogs, they are dogs, what you will get is a better dog who now has a solid foundation of training. We can only start your dog on their next journey it’s up to you and your family to continue to use the tools/knowledge to help lead your dog into the future.
10.What do you mean by correction or punishment? Will my dog be hurt?
Absolutely at no time will any dog in our care be physically abused, the verbiage correction or punishment is not that black and white. A correction could be as simple as a NO, or a quick leash pop. Punishment could mean you can’t go outside, or have that toy you want, or a correction on the E Collar which is a 1-2 second “hello” stop that. These are more of consequences than what you first think of when you hear those two words.
11.What do I have to bring for my dog for a board and train?
Your dog, their daily food enough to last during their stay**, current vaccination records, any medications if needed.
We will take care of the rest.
** Please ensure you are sending enough food for your dogs stay. If in the event your dog runs out of food, we will gladly go get some more and invoice you at the end of the board & train for that plus a $15.00 trip fee.
12.What should I expect when my dog comes home after training?
First of all your commitment, everyone in the family needs to be prepared to carry on in the daily commands/exercises. A strict routine needs to be established for 30, 60 or 90 days depending on what issues you were originally having. Affection must be limited during that time period. Make sure you have a kennel at home for them to stay in, this was a big part of their training to keep a calm state of mind.
